Clinique Powder

Ages and ages ago I purchased the Clinique Almost Powder make up in Deep which worked amazing with my Estee Lauder darker foundation.
Its lasted me ages and Ive just hit pan on it, So Ive just replaced it with a Neutral shade instead.

The packaging has changed and you get a sponge with it instead of a brush which is much better, and I think you get more of the product as well.
Its really good if you want to keep your foundation matte and avoid shine especially on a night out, and its not heavy at all. It looks as if you are barely wearing powder which is perfect.
Defiantly one to invest in if you cant afford the Estee Lauder Double Wear Powder. I think its about £22 from your local counter.

MaxFactor Colour Adapt Foundation

So since the Boujoir Healthy Mix failed me this is the next one I went for which doesn't contain any SPF.
And so far its been fine and hasn't ruined my skin at all. Now on the bottle it doesn't say anything about it being oil-free, but after doing some research it apparently is, so this is the SPF free foundation to go for without any break outs.

I got it in the colour Warm Almond, and its apparently supposed to adapt to your skin tone anyway.
All the colours in this range tend to have an undertone of yellow, so they are all pretty warm even the 'lighter' shades.

Liked Because:

It comes out a bit like a mousse, so its creamy and easy to work with on the skin. It spreads far and gives a good even coverage which tends to last through out the whole day.
Its not advertised as a long lasting foundation but its defiantly lasted me all day at work, with a great even coverage which leaves me with a healthy glow.

Didn't Like Because:

If you unwrap it you see that its not even a full bottle of foundation that you get as pretty much half of it is the pump to push it out. This is one thing that really annoyed me about it, as the Boujoir foundation uses a pump also but you still get a full bottle of foundation.
Really sneaky use of packaging, especially when you are spending over £9.00 on it.

Clarins Daily Energizer Cream

This is my new day time moisturiser, after being recommended it for my age. It doesnt have any anti ageing properties to it as it is designed for younger skin, so really good for teenagers and early twenties.
It helps with imperfections, such as blemishes and uneven skin tone, and puts a radiant youthful look back into the skin.
The Daily Energizer range is fairly new and you can pick up a 30ml jar for just £20.00 Thats a bargin especially for a Clarins Moisturiser.
At the moment I have been using mine day and night and I have found it amazing. It sinks into the skin so well, not to mention it smells gorgeous. So fresh and fruity that I love putting it on my skin.

It comes in three different textures so you can choose the one which you prefer for your skin type.

First you have the Clarins Daily Energizer Lotion SPF 15. Good if you want sun protection in your cream and its oil free.

Daily Energizer Cream which is the one I use, aimed at people with normal to dry skin for extra comfort.

And the Daily Energizer Cream Gel for Combination Oily skin types.

Collection 2000 Skyscraper Mascara

A few months back I won a competition from Andrex Clean Campaigns Facebook page and I won the Collection 2000 Skyscraper Mascara.
I don't tend to shop for Collection 2000 brand as I thought the quality would not be good as it is so cheap, but I found this mascara was amazing. It has one side of long bristles on the wand and the other is short ones.
So you can use each for your top and bottom lashes.

I was really impressed that it did not leave my eyelashes clumpy, nor did it fall down on my face through out the day and the tube actually lasted me a long time afterwards without clogging up.
Its good for separating the lashes, but if you want volume, then I would use it as a mascara base and layer over the top with a thicker mascara. This is what I have been doing and its worked a treat :)

If your looking for a cheap mascara then Collection 2000 is your brand, £2.99 you cant beat that for a cheap deal.

Clarins High Definition Body LIft

I really started using this product after getting it on my allocation at work. I'm all game for anything that's supposed to give cellulite control which smooths and firms the body. It was also featured in the June Cosmopolitan issue on how to fight cellulite, along with some information from Lionel de Bennetti from Clarins.
Lionel states that you must use the product daily for at least a month to see a difference. And I'm sure theres some people that think stuff like this doesn't work, but you obviously have to exercise to help as well.

What it does -

Its a targeted body treatment which drains and stimulates the release of fat to reshape, streamline and firm the body.

It contains caffeine which stimulates, and you can defiantly feel this when you apply it as theres a cooling effect on the skin. The lotion contains small micro beads which melt away upon contact of the body.
You only need to apply it in the areas you feel needed, and in circular sweeping movements. Its best to work upwards towards the heart as that helps with circulation.

When should you apply?

You can apply morning or evening after showering, I apply mine at night time but its also a good idea to apply after you've exercised as it will absorb better.
You can get changed straight after as its non oily and non sticky too, so no worrying about it getting on your clothes or sticking to you!!

Ive only been using it for a week or two but I absolutely love it , I want to get a body brush or massager to use with it to really see some results.

Its £35.50 for a 200ml bottle.

Umberto Giannini

Umberto Giannini has recently come to my knowledge after I saw someone write about their Back Comb In A Bottle. And I needed a new hairspray so I went for the above, the Rock 'n' Roll Extreme Hairspray.
Unlike normal hairspray this smells amazing, it smells like sweets its gorgeous, which leaves my hair smelling great and its also really good at giving hold without leaving my hair looking stuck in place or sticky. I also really like the packaging as well, gives a good change from my all pink Lee Stafford collection.
Its defiantly one to try out, its about £5.00 from Boots.

Summer Holiday Must Haves

Here are a few top end summer editions that I want to add to my make up bag for my summer and for my holidays away. I will mainly be picking some of the goodies up from the airport.

  • Clarins Delectable Tanning Mousse just looks good enough to eat and that's pretty much why I want it ha ha. And it also leaves an amazing natural tan. Even better than my usual St Tropez I am shocked to say.
  • The Clarins Instant Smooth Crystal Clear Lipstick has been brought back by popular demand in the new summer Enchanted Make up range but this time with a moisture stick in the middle. The pink and coral are gorgeous, and slightly similar to the new Maybelline Sensational pop Sticks.
  • Touche Eclat by YSL everyone says this is the best concealer and its going to help make me look more alive when I have to get my flights.
  • Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanning is an instant tan for the face and especially good if you want a glowing tan for the evening of your holiday but don't want to wear makeup. *MUST HAVE*
  • Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess, if you want that coconut summer smell for your holiday and for when your back this is the one. *MUST HAVE*
  • Clarins Hydraquench range is designed for dehydrated skin, which is what happens when skin is exposed to sun, so this is going to be my cream for when I'm away in the sun. And I may even try out the new bi phase serum.

SPF Free Foundation

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

So the last time I posted I was on the look out for a new foundation without SPF to help my ever so ghostly white face catch a tan for summer.
I went into Boots on a mission to purchase the new foundation and came away with Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation in shade 52.
This is what it looks like.

On the bottle it says it lasts for 16 hours and its radiance boosting with ingredients such as:
Apricot - Radiance
Melon - Hydration
Apple - Anti Oxidants
Ginger - Energy

I decided to go for the Bourjois range as I had heard other make up artist rave about how good it was for a drug store foundation and I had never used any make up for the Bourjois range so I thought I'd give it a try.

I found it easy to find my colour as most of the colours in the Healthy Mix Range are yellow toned and they aren't orange at all. I wanted a natural coverage so I went for 52 which is called Vanilla and there are 8 shades to choose from altogether.

Loved Because...

The smell is gorgeous it smells fruity and fresh, it glides onto the face well and is easy to work with unlike some other long lasting foundations. The texture is light and creamy and It doesn't dry too quickly and gives a pretty good coverage. Surprisingly it does actually last through out a whole day at work without feeling like your wearing a thick layer of foundation.
Another amazing plus is that it doesn't contain any SPF not sure why it doesn't though considering its promoting a healthy mix foundation, surely adding an SPF to protect would make it healthier. But this will stop you from looking washed out in photos.

Did Not Love Because...
When reading the ingredients I found that it contained alcohol and obviously this is not healthy for the face.
There is a rumour that Bourjois foundations can break peoples skin out, and I had completely forgot about this until my skin started to break out after just a week and a bit of using it. My skin hadn't broken out that bad in a long time so I could only assume that it was the foundation.
I have recently only been using foundations that are oil free and healthy mix does not state that its oil free.
So if your prone to break outs or already have oily, combination skin then steer well clear unless you want awful skin.

I still have pretty much the whole bottle left which is a shame, so I may try using this again in the future and see if it has the same effect.
